Family Book Club – The Beauty Of Differences: Middle School

March 19, 2022 | The Beauty of Differences

“It IS time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and strength.” – Maya Angelou

Under the umbrella of “what it means to be human” is a gorgeous collection of differences. Communities and families embody those differences in so many ways…

Children start with what they know to be true from their own lives and quickly begin to see the beauty and complexity of the human race in their schools, activities, and neighborhoods. The books that we include with this theme will spark conversation about those differences and will build the emotional connections that are the first steps toward recognizing beauty.

Below you’ll find books, conversation launchers and activities that are appropriate for 6th, 7th and 8th Graders around the concept of “The Beauty of Differences”.
