Local Chicago Writer Allison Baxter* will be leading our Writing Workshop, sharing different foundation activities to get our untold stories down on paper from 3-4 PM in New Book Joy's upstairs Reading Lounge (right before our book discussion from 4-5 PM). We'll turn a grocery list into a protagonist and write a quick plot inspired by our shopping receipts, learn how to obtain a publisher, find out about unexpected pitfalls and celebrations, and get the inside scoop about how some books explode and others are overlooked. NOTE: A percentage of the proceeds for this event will directly support this talented writer*.
