After discovering Soap Distillery years ago at the Revolution Brewing Craft Show, we knew it would make the perfect sensory pairing for a reading experience. This Summer, we started to pair Soap Distillery’s warm-weather collection with our Beach Reads, which resulted in an utterly refreshing experience. We matched Beach Read or Book Lovers by Emily Henry with Mint Mojito Bar Soap, Taste by Stanley Tucci with Mango Lassi Bar Soap, One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle with Limoncello Body Wash, The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See with Mai Tai Bar Soap, The Guncle by Steven Rowley with Long Island Iced Tea Bar Soap, The Edge of Summer by Viola Shipman with Watermelon Basil Collins, and our young adult feature, Hot Dog Girl by Jennifer Dugan, with Rainbow Bar Soap (Pride Month BYC donation bar)… Matches made in heaven!
We also started pairing some other SD faves with our Rugged and Hardy collection of stories for him! It was so fun matching David Grohl’s book, The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music, with the Honey Whiskey or Beer & Cigarettes Bar Soaps or Hand Balms!
This Fall we’ll be recommending more Full Bodied – Strong and Powerful or Deep and Twisty stories and bar soaps, including Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson with Lavender Bitters Bar Soap and The Maid by Nita Prose with Earl Grey Bar Soap.
